Who Needs Medical IDs

Is it just me or...?

Ambulance for EMTsIt seems that more and more people have a need for some kind of medical alert jewelry that can let responders know about their medical conditions. When an emergency happens (I know, I know - it never happens to you) and you're on the ground and unable to speak, what would you need the Medic to know?

  • I have a severe allergy
  • I am on blood thiners
  • I am a diabetic
  • I have epilespy
  • I have a heart condition
  • I had gastric bypass surgery
  • I have MS
  • I had a transplant
  • I am taking multiple medicines

Well, you get the idea.

Sure I do - but I don't...

The list goes on and on, and yet I talk to people all the time that have one of the above (or something else) and they don't have anyting on them that would let a stranger know what their conditoin is, in the event that they can't speak.

In A Perfect World

Maybe everyone thinks that when an emergency happens they'll be surrounded by people that know them and can tell the Medic all about their medical conditions.

The Boy Scout Motto

Be Prepared! There are many colors and styles of Medical Alert ID jewelry today, and they come in more forms than ever.

  • Bracelets (silver, gold, beaded and more)
  • Necklaces (from hearts for girls and women to dog tags for that macho look)
  • Watches (most have the Medical Alert symbol on the face to alert responders)
  • Zipper Charms (for backpacks, coats, purses, ect)
  • Wallet Cards (for wallets or purses - can hold a ton of information)
  • Sports Bands (flexable cloth bands that will stand up to sports)

How cool is that?

From a fashion standpoint there are no good reasons for not having Medical Alert jewelry on at all times!  Except those in perfect health.
